More new stuff from Issac of Shark Pants and Swing Ding Amigos. Pretty psyched-out and spacey sounding. You can definitely hear that they're from the desert.

Three of the newest recordings from Unsane. Check out this article on Blabbermouth about the new online label the guys are doing and some of the releases they've got coming out in the next couple of months.
This was recorded in 1985 with original singer Shawn Brown. 4 of the songs from the session were supposed to end up on a 7" but Shawn Brown was kicked out of the band to bring in Dave Smalley (formerly of DYS) on vocals. So the band re-recored all the songs and it ended up being Can I Say? The Shawn version is pretty good, I still prefer Dave, but at least it isn't as bad as the stuff they put out with Pete Cortner.
This is a weird cover. Coliseum for sure turned it into more of their style. I prefer The Misfits original version but I think what Coliseum did with it is pretty cool.
New L.A. band featuring Keith Morris (Black Flag, Circle Jerks), Dimitri Coats (Burning Brides), Steve McDonald (Redd Kross, Sparks, Beck), & Mario Rubalcab (Earthless, Rocket From the Crypt, Hot Snakes). They've followed the Black Flag handbook pretty thoroughly from the name to having Raymond Pettibon do the artwork. They'll be releasing 4 E.P.s in a box set in November called The First Four E.P.s. The music is definitely not breaking new ground but its good early 80's style hardcore and its 4 songs that clock in at a little under 4 minutes.
2005 U.K. Channel 4 documentary following the band on tour. A brutally honest view on how they've managed to stay true and relevant for over 30 years now.

So much classic Sepultura footage. Includes music videos from a good portion of their albums and tons of live stuff and interviews. Also, there is a great live version of "Holiday in Cambodia" by the Dead Kennedys featuring Jello Biafra on vocals.
This is on heavy rotation right now.

So if New Brains was the record that let you know The Brokedowns like D4 then Species Bender is the record that lets you know how much they're into Rocket From the Crypt.
My buddy Cole has been doing this blog radio show that covers a pretty good mix of heavy music. Lots of sludge, a good amount of hardcore, and some d-beat. The episodes are getting better each time he does one so check it out if yer interested in hearing some new stuff.

No complaints about this from me. Torche is still holding it down.
Not essential but still worth the listen. Clocks in at a little over an hour

I've listened to this once all the way through so far. Initially I like Power Move more but maybe that'll change when I give it a few more listens.
New solo stuff from Mark Ryan of The Marked Men.
Finally all of Todd's hard to get solo material all in one place.
I'm not so much of a fan of Grabass but I've been waiting forever to hear these new TTK songs. 5 songs recorded during the Shanked! sessions laid onto wax by No Idea Records.
Ben Nichols' band pre-Lucero.
There are definite Thin Lizzy influences. This was a band that started playing and people would say to themselves "Is this good? I think I like it but its sounds so weird." Which I feel is a good thing. A pretty unique band that made people turn their heads.

Music video for Rain Un Thunder and in-studio footage of the recording of En Raga Sul.
This is the video that came on the CD version of the NYHC EP. Its about 20 min long and has in-studio footage and interviews with the band.
These guys are friends of mine from Arkansas. Their songs are all instrumentals and I think fans of bands like Don Caballero, Pelican, Cave In, and The Fucking Champs would be into it. They never made it out of Arkansas to play shows so I feel like they are a hidden gem. They never had a real official release. Tracks 1-5 were recorded at Blue Chair Studios in 2007 and released as a digital download from Thinker Thought Records. Tracks 6-7 were recorded at my house in Little Rock sometime in 2006. King Traffic was on the compilation The Matt Evans Project. They played their last show in 2007. David went on to play drums for Chicago band Scout's Honor, Kiffin is currently playing in Rwake, and Josh moved out to New Zealand and I'm not sure if he's still playing music.

I found these tracks on soulseek recently. All the songs in the set are new ones aside from Bottom Feeder. I'm assuming they'll all be on "Mercy" which has just gotten a release date for September 28th on Black Market Activities.

This is a new song that is eventually going to come out on the "Knows Your Sins" LP. From what I understand they're still recording the album and I have no idea when its going to come out. Pretty sure I'm about to listen to this song on repeat for a couple of days.

Tweak Bird is going to get obvious comparisons to the company that they keep (Melvins/Big Business). But this album let's you know that they've really come into their own and those comparisons don't hold as true anymore.

Marissa Paternoster from the Screaming Female's solo debut. You can definitely hear the similarities with the Screamales but I think the album stands on its own very well.
New Isis songs and alternate versions of the Melvins jams.
Todd, Chachi, and Jimmy from Toys That Kill's other new band with Baby J on vocals.
